The Woman: Jess
For the longest time, my childhood dream was to become a fashion designer. I got my start by creating paper dolls and paper outfits. And of course, I ended up in a field that’s completely different: public relations (PR) and corporate communication in various industries, including entertainment, pharma, and beauty. PR came into my life accidentally. I went to college as a Journalism major during the boom of blogs when it seemed like anyone with a computer is/can be a journalist. From there, I landed my first PR job at a major entertainment company, and a year later, joined a Fortune 500 health/beauty company, which officially solidified my career in PR and corporate communication. The truth is I don’t know if I want to stay in PR forever or what I want to do for the rest of my life. And that’s completely ok. It took me a long time to be comfortable with that notion, but this is one of my greatest revelations in adulthood: not knowing does not make you any less successful or ambitious or confident or whatever it is you define yourself. Not knowing makes you work harder, less complacent, and ever curious.

The Look
This shirt dress is fun, colorful, an comfortable.  If you’re in a rush, it’s great for a casual Friday or a normal day at a casual office. The dress is colorful enough to be worn on it’s own, but it’s also the perfect canvas for accessorizing.  Jess added a necklace just under the collar to give it a more dress-ed up look.  Wear this look with some cute ankle boots for a more casual vibe.  You can always throw on some strappy sandals for a more feminine look.
