The Woman: Jess
I am a cat-lover, family-woman, historical fiction-enthusiast, and Taiwanese-American. I was born and raised in Southern California but spent years 1 thru 6 running around the streets of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Fun fact: I have two cats named Elliot Stabler and Jon Snow.

A few weeks ago, I left everything I know and love to pursue a dream of living in NYC and a new job in global public relations in the beauty industry. Outside of work, one of my biggest passions has always been art. These days, I express art through makeup artistry. What I love about makeup is that it’s complex and always different; it incorporates creativity, science, and emotion. So much of what I do is listen to how the client wants to look, how she wants to be perceived, and whether or not the makeup style/ routine fits her lifestyle. You can choose to look completely different or just accentuate your features— the only thing that matters is how you feel. And that’s my beauty philosophy that I apply to my side gig as an amateur makeup artist and my professional life.

The Look
For a trendy look that gives off professional and feminine vibes, we love jumpsuits! They’re so easy to slip into in the morning when we really don’t feel like mixing and matching separates. Plus, despite their low-maintenance nature, they look super polished! Jess paired hers with some patent leather oxfords and a blazer for a menswear-inspired take on the look. Add some simple sentimental jewelry and you’re ready for work!
Check back for more of Jess’ styles!
